00s songs that could fit in the 2010s

This song by Cascada fits in more with today's songs than with other 2005 songs. It was one of the first signs of the upcoming decade.

One of the most notable music trends of the past 4 years has been electro-house, dubstep and autotune/electronic vocal manipulations, Satisfaction by Benny Benassi(2002) sounds like it fits more with '09-'12 than the dominant music trends of the early '00s.

This song from 2002 sounds more like 2012 than 2002.

I think music made in Europe is often ahead of what's made in America. A lot of songs made in Europe in the 00s sound more like 2010s music.

I think who really got that style of music popular in America were Lady Gaga and to a lesser extent Ke$ha. When they appeared on the scene music changed so much. 2008 was to the 2010s as to what 1991 was to the 90s IMO.

Pretty much any indie stuff influenced by the 80s. The Postal Service, Bravery, or songs like "Cool" and "Mr. Brightside" probably would've been even bigger in 2009 to now.

I heard those songs a lot in the 00s but like you said, they probably would be bigger today. I always associated that sound with 00s but not mainstream 00s.
